§ Mr. Geoffrey Lloydasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is satisfied that sufficient powers exist to control the discharge of industrial effluent into public sewers; and what plans he has for increased control of such discharges in order to minimise the dangers to health and amenity.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonI am not aware of any danger to health and amenity due to any lack of such powers, but if the hon. Member has a particular case in mind I shall be glad to consider it. More generally, a working party under the chairmanship of my hon. Friend, the Member for Holborn and St. Pancras, South (Mrs. Lena Jeger), is at present considering the public health, amenity and economic aspects of the various methods of sewage disposal.
