§ Mr. Roseasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what steps he now proposes to take to ensure that full market value will be given to all houses compulsorily purchased or demolished by local authorities and full compensation for amelioration of such property.
§ Mr. MacCollFull market value compensation is paid when houses are compulsorily acquired except for those found to be unfit. The Housing Bill provides that owner-occupiers of unfit houses affected by clearance action started after 23rd April, 1968, will also receive the equivalent of full market value compensation. Well maintained tenanted houses may qualify for a special payment amounting to four times the rateable value.
