Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that the Government have agreed to increases in the salaries of the higher paid civil servants in part on the basis that they have not had an increase for some years, and that the amounts proposed fall within the Government's income policy of 3½ per cent. per annum, he will seek to apply the same criteria to Members of Parliament so as to increase their salaries by £568 per annum.
