§ Mr. Dudley Smithasked the Minister of Transport in view of the fact that the main route from the centre of London to the beginning of the MI motorway has been seriously affected for over a year due to road improvement works in the Swiss Cottage area and in view of the time it is taking for the work to be done, what action he proposes taking to remove this handicap to motorists within the next year.
Mr. BrownNone. Roadworks at Swiss Cottage are the responsibility of the Greater London Council as highway authority. It is making every effort to keep traffic dislocation to a minimum. The main work, which is ahead of schedule, is expected to be completed by April next year.
