Russellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has studied the report on the Application of Cell, Tissue and Organ Cultures in Medical Research as an Alternative to Experiments on Laboratory Animals by Professor Dr. S. T. Aygün, a copy of which has been sent to him; and if he will take steps to assist the study and use of these alternatives to laboratory experiments in Great Britain.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsThe views of Professor Aygün and others on the substitution of tissue and other culture methods for the use of animals in medical research have been known in this country for some time, and research workers here are already using such methods in certain types of research.
