asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity in which years since 1945 the unemployment rate in June was 3.5 per cent. or above in Wales, the Northern Region and Scotland, respectively; and when was the last period, in each of these regions, in which the June rate was at this level for three years in succession.

As the answer to the first part of the Question consists of a table of dates, I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT. It will show information since the introduction of the current series of unemployment statistics in July, 1948.

The answer to the second part of the Question is 1967 to 1969. Following is the information:
