HL Deb 10 July 1969 vol 303 cc1311-2WA
LORD FRASER OF LONSDALE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a statement of their estimate of the arable crops and supply of United Kingdom meat and poultry for the current season.

LORD BESWICK

In the Annual Review White Paper (Cmnd. 3965) the Government indicated production prospects for these commodities during the current year. It is too early to assess what actual production will be, but as my right honourable friend said in another place, difficult weather conditions earlier in the season may well reduce cereals production below what otherwise might have been expected.

House adjourned at eight minutes before ten o'clock.
