Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will take steps to enable student and pupil nurses over the age of 21 years to qualify for the £1 a week grant in order to achieve equality for all student and pupil nurses and remove the discrimination against late entrants to the nursing profession.
