§ Mr. Hobdenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what estimate he has made of the extent to which the number of units of accommodation to be let for rent has diminished following the passage of the Rent Act 1966.
§ Mr. MacCollAt the end of 1965, when the Rent Act, 1965, came into force, the number of privately rented dwellings in Great Britain was approximately 3.5 million, and represented 20 per cent. of the national stock of dwellings. In June, 1968, the latest date for which figures are available, it was about 3.1 million, representing 17 per cent. of the national stock.
