HC Deb 28 January 1969 vol 776 cc305-6W
Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the progress of the plans for the eradication of brucellosis in England, Wales and Carmarthenshire, respectively.

Mr. John Mackie

I would refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend's reply of 19th December to my hon. Friend the Member for Falmouth and Camborne (Dr. John Dunwoody).

Of the 2,570 herds registered under the Brucellosis (Accredited Herds) Scheme up to the end of November, 1968, 284 were in Wales and they included 114 herds in Carmarthenshire. The establishment of a register of accredited herds is a first step towards eradication.—[Vol. 775 c. 463.]
