§ Mr. Roy JenkinsWith the exception of a C.O.I. regional office in Newcastle, I know of no towns in England or Wales where offices for which I am responsible were closed on New Year's Day. And no such practice has been adopted during the last four years. All civil servants are allowed, and have been for a long time, 245W a third day's holiday at Christmas (subject to a variation in some locations and for those working a 5½ day week).
