asked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the number of British military personnel in Nigeria at 31st December, 1968.

The number as at 31st December, 1968, was three.

Six R.A.F. medical personnel were sent to Nigeria on 11th January to assist the Nigerians in civil relief. Their task is to set up a permanent maxillo-facial unit for facial and dental surgery in the civil hospital at Kaduna. They will be relieved in April by a civilian team.
