§ Mr. Leadbitterasked the Postmaster-General what is the total cost of the research and development programme to promote colour television from the British Broadcasting Corporation.
§ Mr. StonehouseThe B.B.C. tells me that it is spending some £1,200,000 per annum on television research, development and design. The work on the transition to 625-line television, to duplication and to colour is so interwoven that it is not possible to isolate the colour component of the expenditure in any meaningful way.
