§ Mr. HoyWe are encouraging hill sheep production in two main ways. First, the Hill Land Improvement Scheme aims to raise the carrying capacity of the grazings, as to both the number and quality of stock that can be kept. Second, the hill sheep subsidy has been extended to the wider area of upland eligible for the hill cattle subsidy and where the possibility of growth is greatest. Moreover the increase in the price guarantee for fat sheep at the last Review greatly helped the store markets.
