§ Mr. John MackieThe number of staff employed by my Department on 1st October, 1968, was 16,139, and this comprised 11,572 permanent and 4,567 temporary officers. The breakdown of these numbers into salary bands is not readily available and could not be provided without unreasonable expenditure of time and money.
