§ 81. Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Technology what consultations his Department had with the Shipbuilding Research Association, Wallsend, about the designs and assembly of the ship's machinery of the "Queen Elizabeth 2", in view of the large loan of public money involved.
§ Mr. BennThe design and assembly of the engines for the "QE2" was a commercial matter for discussion between shipowner, shipbuilder and engine builder. The British Ship Research Association was, I understand, not involved in the design of these particular engines though its research has contributed to the development of this type of turbine.
