HC Deb 26 February 1969 vol 778 cc318-9W
81. Mr. John Page

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will investigate the reasons why the hon. Member for Harrow, West, was cut off twice when ringing 01–986 3131 from interior floor telephone box 15 between 16.45 and 16.55 on Tuesday, 4th February, after dialling the House of Commons at 16.55 hours did not receive an answer after 30 rings, on two further dials made no connection, and when dialling 100 twice also made no connection, matters which he eventually reported to the supervisor.

Mr. Stonehouse

I regret that on 4th February there was a fault, which was later repaired, on the exchange served by the code "986". The code "100" cannot be connected from box 15, which is for local calls only. There was an incorrect instruction in this box, but it has now been replaced.
