HC Deb 26 February 1969 vol 778 c298W
61. Mr. Kimball

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what consultations he had with the Nature Conservancy and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds before issuing instructions for spreading Aldrin, Pans Green and active D.D.T. poisons about the countryside for the control of leather-jackets.

Mr. Hoy

The advice which is being given to farmers follows the recommendations for the safe use of these chemicals made by the Advisory Committee on Pesticides and Other Toxic Chemicals. The Nature Conservancy is represented on the Committee, which also takes into account the views of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds if there is thought to be a serious hazard to wild life.
