§ Mr. CrossmanTo abolish the retirement condition and the earnings rule for National Insurance retirement pension would, at April, 1968 levels, increase expenditure by about £115 million a year initially. I welcome the opportunity provided by this Question to correct an error of transcription in the text of the White Paper "National Superannuation and Social Insurance" (Cmnd. 3883) where the erroneous figure of £150 million appears on page 54 in paragraph 18 of Appendix I.
