asked the Minister of Technology what facilities there are for testing large marine turbines since the closing of Pametrada; and what has become of the facilities there.

The full-scale test rig at Wallsend owned by the British Ship Research Association was closed and put on a care and maintenance basis for 12 months from 31st March last year to give those who may be interested an opportunity to consider the situation. One marine turbine manufacturer also has limited test facilities.
