HC Deb 26 February 1969 vol 778 c296W
52. Mr. J. E. B. Hill

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what estimate he has made of the additional costs incurred annually by the horticultural industry from the surcharge on the different grades of fuel oils used in it; and what advice he has given to growers to minimise this increase in costs.

Mr. Hoy

For the horticultural industry in England and Wales, I estimate that in a full year the surcharge on fuel and gas oils at the reduced levels announced on 13th February, will total £218,000. My technical officers advise growers on all aspects of horticultural production including efficiency in heating glasshouses.
