HC Deb 26 February 1969 vol 778 cc329-30W
Mr. Kitson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation to set up a panel to decide the results and starting prices of horse races abandoned because of weather conditions to enable the revenue to be maintained and assist bookmakers and the Totalisator to sustain their turnover and thereby their contributions to the Levy Board.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

No. Legislation is not needed for this and could not require bets to be made or accepted on results so decided.
