§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will introduce legislation to enable citizens who feel themselves to have been 203W defamed by reports of the National Board for Prices and Incomes to seek redress at law; and if she will issue a direction to the Board that pending the introduction of such legislation it should refrain from criticism of individuals unless such individuals have been confronted with the criticism prior to publication.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerI do not think such legislation would be desirable. The Board must be able to report fully and freely on the matters referred to it. No. direction is necessary on the second point which the Board has assured me it fully accepts.
