Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many appointments have been made to the stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds since October 1964; and if he will state dates of appointment and retirement of each.

Four. The details are as follows:

Name and Dale of Appointment Anthony Alfred Harmsworth Marlowe— 24th June, 1965. William Lloyd Roots—29th September, 1967. Charles Leslie Hale—15th January, 1968. Sir Luke William Burke Teeling— 6th February, 1969.

The tenure of each holder terminates when is replaced by a new Steward, and he is informed accordingly. There have also been four appointments to the stewardship of the Manor of Northstead.
