§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what deficiency is shown in the Government Actuary's report on the accounts of the 153W teachers' superannuation scheme for England and Wales at 31st March, 1966; at what rate supplementary contributions are to be fixed to bring the accounts into balance; and if he will make a statement on the reasons for the deficiency and the action proposed.
Mr. ShortIt would be very difficult to give a satisfactory reply to my hon. Friend's question within the limits of a Parliamentary answer, but the information he seeks is contained in the Government Actuary's Report published on 14th February (H.C. 128). The employers' supplementary contribution will continue at 2½ per cent., on top of their basic contribution of 6 per cent.
