RobinsonSo far as this country is concerned, there are already a number of committees and other bodies considering particular aspects of pollution in order to advise me on measures 157W required to forestall dangers from air and water pollution, and my right hon. Friends have the benefit of similar advice on matters within their jurisdictions. In general the executive authorities already have adequate powers of control. The Government are keeping under review the arrangements for co-ordinating these activities.
The Government have indicated that they will contribute to the best of their ability to the United Nations conference on the problems of the human environment arranged for 1972 following the recommendation of a U.N.E.S.C.O. Conference on the Biosphere held in 1968.
