Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will obtain a report from the chief constables concerned as to the total police strength at present in North Wales and the extent to which it is short of establishment.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

The strength of the Gwynedd force (which includes Denbigh, Flint, Caernarvon, Merioneth and Anglesey) was 914 on 31st January, against an establishment of 1,036.
