§ Mr. MacCollFrom a survey undertaken last year by the Department of Employment and Productivity it is estimated that in December, 1967, there were in England and Wales some 1,550,000 controlled tenancies; this estimate however includes a figure of 350,000 for the Greater London area, which may need to be adjusted after further analysis.
