HC Deb 17 February 1969 vol 778 c16W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations have been made to the State of Israel concerning the interference by her armed forces with attempts to free British ships trapped in the Great Bitter Lakes.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

I am not aware of any recent incidents to which this Question could be related. If my hon. Friend is referring to the unsuccessful attempt to begin work on releasing the ships in January last year, I have nothing to add to my reply to a supplementary question by my hon. Friend the Member for Manchester, Exchange (Mr. Will Griffiths) on 18th November, 1968.—[Vol. 773, c. 868.]
