HC Deb 17 February 1969 vol 778 c15W
71. Mr. Kenneth Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what further discussions he has had with Spain with a view to securing an easing of restrictions on visitors into and out of Gibraltar, especially during the holiday season.

Mr. Foley

The Spanish Government know the view we take of their restrictions at the land frontier between Gibraltar and Spain, and of the delays and inconvenience suffered last summer by tourists using the ferry between Algeciras and Gibraltar. There are no current reports of passengers on the ferry being delayed, but we shall watch the situation closely as the tourist season develops.
