asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the number of all local authority primary schools built in Bedfordshire before 1939, 1914 and 1870, respectively.

The only available information was supplied by the Bedfordshire authority in 1962. It related to slightly different periods, as follows:

Before 1875 49 schools

1875–1918 38 schools

1919–1944 16 schools.
