HC Deb 17 February 1969 vol 778 c45W
105. Dame Irene Ward

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in the interests of all concerned, arrangements in accordance with the decision of the courts for the future of Mary Bell will cease to be made public.

Mr. Callaghan

I have much sympathy with this proposal, although it would not be right to withhold reasonable information on a matter of public concern. I am sure that I can continue to rely on the press, television and radio, in the interests of the persons and establishments concerned, to treat these matters with restraint.
