asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what is the current male employee activity rate in England, and what it was in 1964.

The male employee activity rate in England in 1967, the latest date for which a figure is available, was 75.6 per cent. and in 1964 it was 77.2 per cent. The male employee activity rates refer to mid-year and are defined as the estimated numbers of male employees in England aged 15 and over (including the registered wholly unemployed) expressed as a percentage of the total male home population in England aged 15 and over
