HC Deb 14 February 1969 vol 777 cc402-3W
Sir J. Langford-Holt

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give a list of all financial obligations, other than external loans, acquired since October, 1964.

Mr. Harold Lever

If the hon. Member has in mind domestic borrowing by the central Government, between the beginning of October, 1964, and the end of September, 1968, this borrowing amounted to approximately £750 million, including approximately £225 million borrowed from the banks.
