20. Mr. Deedes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has for future work by the Television Research Committee: when it is expected to make its next report; and if he will make a statement.

The Television Research Committee has allocated the research funds made available to it by the Independent Television Authority and has recently submitted to my right hon. Friend a final report, which will receive full consideration. A number of research projects commissioned by the Committee will not be completed for some time.

I should like to take this opportunity of thanking the members of the Commit- tee for their services over the past five years in what has been largely a pioneering task.
