HC Deb 12 February 1969 vol 777 cc329-30W
111. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of Technology what further representations he has received within the last week from the Cunard Shipping Company for further Governmental assistance or intervention to help solve the problems associated with the Queen Elizabeth 2; and what was his reply.

Mr. Fowler

Friend the Minister of State explained to the House yesterday, we learnt over the weekend that there was some uncertainty as to whether the present arrangements for modification of the turbines went far enough. Following discussion with the chairmen of the companies concerned, my right hon. Friend asked Sir Arnold Lindley to look into the position and report to him.—[Vol. 777, c. 1122–26.]
