HC Deb 12 February 1969 vol 777 c312W
84. Mr. Booth

asked the President of the Board of Trade what reduction in lie number of jobs available in the United Kingdom he estimates has been brought about by the introduction of capital intensive methods of production supported by investment grants.

Mr. Dell

Investment grants help maintain the competitiveness of British industry and I do not believe that they can be said to cause a net reduction in job opportunities, either in the development areas or in the country as a whole.
