§ Mr. James Johnsonasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement regarding the testing of de-icing equipment upon the "Boston Phantom" while trawling in the Icelandic fishing grounds.
§ Mr. CroslandThe testing was carried out under arrangements made between the manufacturers of the equipment and the owners of the vessel. Some preliminary information has been received concerning sheathed man-made fibre rope which is also under test in the weather ship "Orsino". I expect that a full report will be received within a few days which will also deal with the pneumatic sleeves fitted to mast and bridge front. It was agreed with the manufacturers that the latter equipment did not need to be duplicated in the "Orsino" tests.
