§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services in view of the growing practice of his Department of taking from five to 12 weeks to send substantive replies to the communications of Members of Parliament, whether he will take action to revert to the previous practice of sending replies within one or two weeks.
§ Mr. CrossmanIt is not always possible to answer quickly if detailed investigation is needed and a comprehensive reply given. If, however, my hon. Friend will let me have details of specific cases, I will look into them.
