§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that office development in the East Anglian planning region is no longer subject to Government control, he will assist the Location of Offices Bureau in promoting the development of offices in the expanding towns of West Suffolk, notably Haverhill.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyIt is not the function of the Location of Offices Bureau to promote office development in particular places. The Bureau brings to the attention of firms contemplating movement from London all sites which might meet their needs.
§ Mrs. Ewingasked the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has for re-locating the Location of Offices Bureau outwith London; and if he has investigated the possibility of a site in Scotland.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyThe first function of the Location of Offices Bureau is to encourage the de-centralisation and diversion of office employment from Central London to suitable centres elsewhere. The Bureau could not carry out this function unless it were easily accessible to office employers in London. I have no plans to re-locate the Bureau.
