§ Mr. James Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what arrangements the British Government intend to make to commemorate the bicentenary of Captain Cook's discovery of New Zealand and of Australia.
§ Mr. WhitlockThe Bicentenary of Captain Cook's discovery is being celebrated in New Zealand on 9th October 1969 and in Australia on 29th April, 1970. The British Government will present a scale model of Captain Cook's ship "Endeavour" to both New Zealand and Australia. The models, which will be partly cut-away, fully rigged and about 8 feet long, are being made at the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich.
