§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Minister of Power if he will give an undertaking to withhold approval for such reorganisation of the British Steel Corporation as removes control over the Scottish area from Scotland.
§ Mr. MasonAs I told my hon. Friend the member for Bothwell (Mr. James Hamilton) on 22nd January [Vol. 776, c.136] the Government's decision on any proposals made by the Corporation will be taken and announced only when any proposed new arrangements have been worked out in fuller detail; but special attention is being given, in the further studies now in progress, to Scottish, Welsh and Regional interests.
