HC Deb 05 February 1969 vol 777 cc95-6W
Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many persons have been vaccinated against influenza this winter.

Mr. MacArthur

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what stocks of influenza vaccine are now held in Scotland.

Mr. Stodart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is satisfied that there are adequate supplies of vac cine in Scotland to counter an attack of Hong Kong influenza; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

Doctors are not required to report vaccinations against influenza, and it would be an unreasonable burden on them to ask them to do so. I am, therefore, unable to say how many persons have been vaccinated.

The vaccine is distributed through normal trade channels and I am, therefore, unable to state the number of doses now available in Scotland; but I have no reason to suppose that Scotland is not obtaining a fair share of the supplies now available in Great Britain as a whole.
