HC Deb 04 February 1969 vol 777 c66W
Mr. Jopling

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether her employees in regional headquarters and employment exchanges are entitled to a third day's holiday in Christmas week; and when this is taken.

Mr. Hattersley

Yes, in Wales and most of England. The third day is normally taken either on Christmas Eve or on the day following Boxing Day, but in part of northern England it is taken on New Year's Day. In Scotland the three days of holiday are Christmas Day, New Year's Day and 2nd January.
