HC Deb 04 February 1969 vol 777 cc70-1W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of the total supplies of influenza vaccine has been distributed to the south-west of England, and what percentage in other regions of England.

Mr. Ennals

Information in the form required could not be obtained without a disproportionate effort. Supplies are being distributed fairly throughout the country.

Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the circumstances in which, contrary to his policy on priorities for the distribution of the A2 vaccine, a supply of 200 doses was despatched to an industrial firm from a British pharmaceutical company and which was discovered when the package was sent in error to a chemist in Perth, details of which have been sent to him.

Mr. Ennals

The suppliers have informed me that this was a mistake, which they much regret. The Royal Burgh of Perth has purchased the vaccine and made it available to local general practitioners. I have written to my hon. Friend.
