HC Deb 04 February 1969 vol 777 cc60-1W
Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what he estimates will be the annual loss to the revenue when the income of the Duchy of Cornwall is transferred to the Prince of Wales.

Mr. Harold Lever

As I explained in my reply to the hon. Member's Question on 28th January, the issues from the Consolidated Fund for the annual Civil List are abated by the appropriate share of the net revenues of the Duchy of Cornwall.

The present abatement is at the rate of approximately £170,000 a year; this will cease when the Duchy revenues come to the Prince of Wales in full.
