81. Mr. Hooson

asked the Minister of Transport if he will give details of the capital plans submitted to him relating to the ports of Wales, under the control of the Docks Board of the British Transport Commission, for roll-on/roll-off facilities in the near future.

Mr. Marsh

My predecessor authorised a roll-on/roll-off berth for Swansea at an estimated cost of about £600,000. Work started in February, 1968, and I understand that the berth is expected to be in service by May of this year.
