HC Deb 03 February 1969 vol 777 c24W
92. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she has given consideration to the request made to her Department to endorse the £500 per annum retainer fees paid to police surgeons; whether this is in accord with the Government's policy on productivity, prices and incomes; and whether she will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Walker

The incomes policy aspects of the proposed settlement are under consideration by the Government: it would be inappropriate for me to make a statement. I understand that the maximum retainer fee is considerably less than that quoted by my hon. Friend.
