§ Sir Clive Bossomasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give details of the circumstances in which the Government is planning to give financial help to local authorities in Scotland for parking schemes.
§ Mr. RossSupport for expenditure by local authorities on parking schemes is given through the general contribution of rate support grant to rate-borne expenditure. In addition the provision of parking facilities at railway stations handling substantial volumes of commuter traffic may qualify for grants of up to 50 per cent. under Section 56 of the Transport Act, 1968.
