HC Deb 03 February 1969 vol 777 cc49-50W
29. Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Postmaster-General what steps he is taking to improve security arrangements in Crown and sub-post offices; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Stonehouse

Crown Offices in the London area have recently been equipped with protective barriers and a special type of screen is being developed for use in Crown Offices wherever required. For sub-post offices, a Post Office designed screen for protecting staff at counters is being made available on a cost sharing basis. 4,000 have been ordered by Sub-Postmasters and delivery is now starting.
